Mahalia Jane (formerly Barr-Mashei) is a talented singer, songwriter, performer and producer from Adelaide, South Australia
Singing and performing since she could walk, Mahalia has over 15 years of industry experience. Mahalia made an impact on the Adelaide music scene with her original 2017 production "WHAT IF" and her 5-star sold out show “Her Soul” These performances gained award nominations and recognition in the festival space.
Working as a professional vocalist and performer around the world has led Mahalia to gain extensive wisdom in the music and entertainment industry. A creative and passionate songwriter and performer, Mahalia travelled to Europe in 2015 after performing her successful one-woman show tributing to 'Billie Holiday'.
When it comes to her stage presence, it is one you won't forget as her depth in vocal delivery and raw emotional engagement never disappoints to entertain and move audiences.
Mahalia and her multi talented musicians perform at many weddings, events and corporate functions in Adelaide and Melbourne. As a commitment performer, Mahalia has a strong passion and drive for being able to create unique performing experiences and personalised services. Mahalia holds a Diploma in Music specialising in Voice and has performed with many bands, gospel choirs, musicals, solo performances, films and TVC. Mahalia has worked closely with highly regarded and award winning industry professionals such as Guy Sebastian, DING Productions, The Audio Embassy, NIDA, Gospo Collective and Strictly Ballroom 'The Musical'
In early 2018, Mahalia started her original music project Harli. Working in Sydney, she wrote with chart topping Universal Music Producer Liam Quinn and Sony Music’s Isabella Kearney-Nurse, who has written #1 songs with The Veronica’s. Harli’s song “Be Me” was featured on a Spotify Editorial playlist in 2018 which gained over 15,000 plays in one day. Harli was shortlisted for the People’s Choice Award ‘Best Electronic Artist’ in 2018, and nominated for ‘Best Pop Artist’ in 2019.
